Meditations for Blessings, Health and Prosperity 11

Isa. 26:3-4  God keeps me in perfect peace for my mind is stayed on Him. I trust in the Lord forever.

Isa. 26:12  The Lord ordains peace  unto me for He has wrought all my works in me.

Isa. 27:3  The Lord keeps and waters me every moment. He keeps me day and night.

Isa. 28:5-6  The Lord of hosts is a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty unto me. He is a spirit of judgment to me as I sit in judgment. He is strength to me  as I turn the  battle to the gate.

Isa. 28:9  The Lord teaches me knowledge and makes me to understand doctrine.

Isa. 30:15  I rest in the Lord. I have strength and confidence in quietness in the Lord.

Isa. 30:20-21  My eyes se e God who alone is my teacher. My ears hear a word of the Lord saying, “This  is the way, walk in it.” When I turn to the right and when I turn to the left.

Isa. 35:1,2  I rejoice and blossom as  a rose  abundantly. I rejoice even with joy and singing.  The glory and the excellency of the Lord is given unto me.

Isa. 35:5-7  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. The eyes of the blind are opened. The ears of the deaf are unstopped. The lame men leap as a hart. The tongue of the dumb sing. Waters break out in the wilderness and stream s in the desert. The parched ground becomes a pool and the thirsty land springs of water. The Spirit of the Lord is poured out upon all flesh.

Isa. 35:10  Songs and everlasting joy is upon my head. I have obtained joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing have fled away.

Isa. 40:3 5  I prepare the way of the Lord. I make straight in the desert a highway for my God. Every  valley is exalted; every mountain is brought low. The crooked is made straight and the rough ways are made smooth. The glory of the Lord is revealed and all flesh sees it together.

Isa. 40:29  The Lord gives me power and increases strength upon me.

Isa. 40:31  I wait upon the Lord and He renews my strength. I mount up with wings as an eagle. I run and am not weary; I walk and am not faint.

Isa. 41:2,5  The Lord has raised me,  a. righteous man from the east. He calls me and gives the nations before me. He has made me to rule over kings. He gave them as dust to my sword, the Sword of the Spirit. The isles saw it and feared. The ends of the earth are afraid and they draw near and worship God.

Isa. 41  I am the servant of God,  God has chosen and strengthened me, He helps me and upholds me with His right hand of righteousness. All that incensed against me are ashamed and confounded. They are as nothing. They that strive with me perish. They that war against me are as nothing. As a thing of nought. For the Lord upholds my right hand and helps me.

Isa. 41:15,16  God makes me a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth. I thresh the mountains and beat them small. I make the hills as chaff. I fan them, the  wind carries them away and the whirlwind scatters them. I rejoice in the Lord and glory in the Holy One of Israel.

Isa. 48:17-19  The Lord teaches me to  profit. He leads me by the way that I should go. My peace is as the river and my righteousness as the waves of the sea. My spiritual children are as the sand of the sea.

Isa. 54:2-3  I enlarge the place of my  tent. I stretch the curtains of my habitation.  I spare not; I lengthen  the cords; I strengthen the stakes. I break forth on the right hand and on the left. I inherit the Gentiles.

Isa. 54:13  Great is the peace of my children for they are taught of the Lord,.

Isa. 54:14  I am far from oppression and terror for they can never come near me.

Isa. 54:17  No weapon that is formed against me can prosper. Every tongue that rises against me  in judgment God condemns. For this is my heritage as I am a servant of God and my righteousness of the Lord.

Isa. 56:1-2  I keep judgment and do justice for my salvation is come and my righteousness is revealed. I keep the Sabbath, the rest of Christ and am blessed.

Isa. 56:5  God gives me an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.

Isa. 56:6  I join myself to the Lord to serve Him, to love Him and His Name to be His servant and to take hold of His covenant.

Isa. 56:7  The Lord brings me to  His holy mountain and makes me joyful in His house of prayer and my sacrifices are accepted by God.

Always Have A Plan B

We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance. Because many things don’t go as well as we would like them to, it’s a great idea to have a “Plan B.” Having fallback plans can’t help but make you feel better about the  outcome  of  any  situation,  and  it  is  a  common denominator among very self-confident people.

Anyone  who  has  had  more  than  one  failure  in her  life  can  tell  you  that  having  another  path  to  take probably saved her bacon a time or two. I’m a big one for  contingency  plans.  If  you  are  an  entrepreneur,  in the  arts  or  media,  or  you  have  all  your  eggs  in  one basket, a Plan B is essential.

Knowing that if you lose the farm you have a condo you can go to makes you feel safer in the world. I know a number of people who have motor homes, and one of the reasons they do is, as they jokingly say, it’s their “in case” home. During the last big earthquake here in Los  Angeles,  many  people  who  had  them  were  very grateful—and those of us who didn’t were envious.

With the world economy in turmoil, creating some kind of additional income stream is also a good idea. The jeweler who is also a great designer or builder, the computer  geek  who  can  also  teach  school,  or  the  PR person  who  is  a  closet  novelist  can  all  find  a  way  to thrive even if their current position disappears.

Backup  plans  don’t  have  to  be  new  ideas—I continue  to  use  aspects  of  everything  I’ve  ever  done. My days on stage playing guitar have made me a better public speaker, which makes me a good radio host. The energy  I  put  into  songs  and  poems  has  helped  them become columns and books.
The years I spent running my  own  business  give  me  the  insight  to  help  others streamline theirs.

And all of my experiences have made me  a  confident  and  successful  therapist.  Every  talent and  ability  you  have  can  be  built  upon  and  also  used again.  Not  that  I’d  ever  again  want  to  be  on  a  tour bus with six smelly guys for eight weeks, but if I had to I could still put food on the table by humming and strumming.

There’s  another  potential  upside  here:  Sometimes your  original  plan  and  your  backup  can  work  at  the same time. I still counsel, consult, write, and speak to groups all over the world. In years when the speaking business  got  very  slow  (such  as  after  9/11  and  then the  financial  crisis),  I  spent  more  time  writing  and counseling.

When  there  was  a  lull  between  books, I  put  more  energy  into  my  radio  show  and  business consulting, and did pro-bono events. Having multiple options gives you the sense that, if any one thing went away, you’d have other gigs that would more than fill the gap.

So get a little creative. Look at your past accomplishments and your current talents. A Plan B is only an idea away. By the way, this Plan B thing works in life, but not in relationships. Having a backup mate is only going to erode your current relationship and cause heartache for everyone involved. Enough said.
