Meditations for Blessings, Health and Prosperity 1

Ps. 77:6  I call to remembrance the Lord at night; I commune with my own heart; my spirit meditates and makes diligent search.

Ps. 77:11, 12  I remember the works of the Lord and His wonders of old. I meditate upon all of His works and talk of His doings.

Ps. 78:72  God feeds me according to  the integrity of my heart.

Ps. 89:16  I rejoice in the Lord’s Name all the day and in His righteousness I am exalted.

Ps. 89:20, 21  God has anointed me with His holy oil. He has established me with His hand and His arm has strengthened me.

Ps. 90:12  God teaches me to number my days and I apply my heart unto wisdom.

Ps. 90:14  God satisfies me early with  His mercy; I will rejoice and be glad all my days.

Ps. 90:16  God’s work and glory appear unto me.

Ps. 90:17  The beauty of the Lord my God is upon me and He establishes the work of my hands.

Ps. 91  I dwell in the secret place of the most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty God.  The Lord is my refuge and my fortress. He is my God and  in Him do I trust. Surely He has delivered me from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence. He covers me with His feathers and under His wings I do trust.

His truth is my shield and buckler. I am not afraid of the terror by night nor the arrow that flies by day nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness nor for the destruction that  wastes at noonday. A thousand shall fall at my side and ten  thousand at my right hand but it shall not come nigh me. My eyes behold and see the reward of the wicked because I have made the Lord my refuge even the most High God my habitation.

There shall no evil befall me neither shall any plague come near my dwelling for the Lord gives His angel charge over me to keep me in all my ways. They will bear me up in their hands lest I dash my foot against a stone. I tread upon the lion and adder. The young lion and the dragon I trample under feet. I trample Satan and all his demonic forces under my feet. I crush all their power over those I preach the Gospel to and break the chains of captivity and set the people free  and loosed into the kingdom of God.

Ps. 91:14-16  I set my love upon God and He has delivered me. He sets me on high His own right hand because I have known His Name. I call upon God and He answers me, He is with me in trouble. He delivers me and honors me. God satisfies me with long life and shows me His salvation in all His glory and powers.

Ps. 97:10  I love the Lord and I hate evil.

Ps. 101:2, 6  I behave myself in a perfect way that is wisely. I walk within my house with a perfect  heart and I serve God.

Ps.103:3, 4  My soul blesses the Lord and does not forget His benefits for God forgives all my iniquities and heals all my diseases and redeems my life from destruction.

Ps.103:5  God satisfies my mouth with  good things so that my youth is renewed like the eagles.

Ps. 104:4  The Lord makes me His minister a flaming fire.

Ps. 105:37  God brings me out of the world with silver and gold; there is not a feeble person in my family.

Ps. 107:20  God has sent His Word and has healed me. I have perfect eyesight and I have perfect health.

Ps. 107:21, 22 I praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works unto the children of men. I sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing.

Ps. 112: l  I am blessed of the Lord for I fear Him, I delight greatly in His commandments.

Ps. 139:14  I praise God for I am  fearfully and wonderfully made.

Ps. 139.17  God's thoughts are  very precious unto me.

Ps. 139:23  God searches me and know s my heart. God tries me and knows my thoughts.

Ps. 140:13  I am upright and I dwell in God's presence.

Ps. 142:5  The Lord is my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

Ps. 142:7  The righteous compasses me  about for God deals bountifully with me.

Ps. 143:8  The Lord causes me to hear His loving kindness in the morning for I trust in Him.

Ps. 143:10  The Lord teaches me to do His will for He is my God.

Ps. 144:1  God is my strength. He teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

Ps. 144:2  God is my goodness my fortress, my high tower, my deliverer and my shield.

Ps. 144:12  My spiritual sons are as plants grown up in  their youth and my spiritual daughters are as cornerstones polished after the similitude of a palace.

Ps. 145:2-20  I bless the Lord every day. He fulfils all my desires for I fear Him. The Lord preserves me for I love Him.

Always Have A Plan B

We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance. Because many things don’t go as well as we would like them to, it’s a great idea to have a “Plan B.” Having fallback plans can’t help but make you feel better about the  outcome  of  any  situation,  and  it  is  a  common denominator among very self-confident people.

Anyone  who  has  had  more  than  one  failure  in her  life  can  tell  you  that  having  another  path  to  take probably saved her bacon a time or two. I’m a big one for  contingency  plans.  If  you  are  an  entrepreneur,  in the  arts  or  media,  or  you  have  all  your  eggs  in  one basket, a Plan B is essential.

Knowing that if you lose the farm you have a condo you can go to makes you feel safer in the world. I know a number of people who have motor homes, and one of the reasons they do is, as they jokingly say, it’s their “in case” home. During the last big earthquake here in Los  Angeles,  many  people  who  had  them  were  very grateful—and those of us who didn’t were envious.

With the world economy in turmoil, creating some kind of additional income stream is also a good idea. The jeweler who is also a great designer or builder, the computer  geek  who  can  also  teach  school,  or  the  PR person  who  is  a  closet  novelist  can  all  find  a  way  to thrive even if their current position disappears.

Backup  plans  don’t  have  to  be  new  ideas—I continue  to  use  aspects  of  everything  I’ve  ever  done. My days on stage playing guitar have made me a better public speaker, which makes me a good radio host. The energy  I  put  into  songs  and  poems  has  helped  them become columns and books.
The years I spent running my  own  business  give  me  the  insight  to  help  others streamline theirs.

And all of my experiences have made me  a  confident  and  successful  therapist.  Every  talent and  ability  you  have  can  be  built  upon  and  also  used again.  Not  that  I’d  ever  again  want  to  be  on  a  tour bus with six smelly guys for eight weeks, but if I had to I could still put food on the table by humming and strumming.

There’s  another  potential  upside  here:  Sometimes your  original  plan  and  your  backup  can  work  at  the same time. I still counsel, consult, write, and speak to groups all over the world. In years when the speaking business  got  very  slow  (such  as  after  9/11  and  then the  financial  crisis),  I  spent  more  time  writing  and counseling.

When  there  was  a  lull  between  books, I  put  more  energy  into  my  radio  show  and  business consulting, and did pro-bono events. Having multiple options gives you the sense that, if any one thing went away, you’d have other gigs that would more than fill the gap.

So get a little creative. Look at your past accomplishments and your current talents. A Plan B is only an idea away. By the way, this Plan B thing works in life, but not in relationships. Having a backup mate is only going to erode your current relationship and cause heartache for everyone involved. Enough said.
